Homeschool Workshops

  • Each week, we run several sessions focused on a single topic aligned with the Australian Curriculum. Every session includes a worksheet and hands-on activities, which may involve live animals or preserved specimens.

    Parents are welcome to stay with their child or drop off for the duration of the session.

    All staff hold current Working With Children Checks.

    Classes are designed for children aged 5–13 years, with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 15 participants per session.

    For the safety of all children, as well as our live animals and delicate preserved specimens, children under 5 years (excluding babies) are not able to attend these sessions. However, we can offer private sessions where younger children are welcome to participate.

Homeschool Booking Form

If you have not attended before and are unsure how your child will respond, we recommend booking only one session initially. Any additional bookings for the remainder of the term will still receive the discount once a total of 5 or more sessions have been booked. If we need to cancel a session, a credit will be issued to use toward another session. Credits must be used within 10 weeks of the cancelled session. Alternatively, the credit can be converted into a tax-deductible donation. Please book carefully as we do not offer refunds. As a not-for-profit organisation with limited staff hours, processing refunds is very time consuming and takes valuable time away from caring for the animals.
