Description
Reindeer belong to the deer family, and are found in the arctic and mountainous regions of northern Europe. Males grow antlers rapidly over summer, to attract a female mate for the autumnal breeding season. Older bulls will drop them first during November and December, and by February younger bulls will also have dropped. Antlers differ to horns in that they are an extension of the skull and a single structure of bone.
