Description
Black bucks, also known as Indian antelopes, are found in India, Pakistan and Nepal. Males average 38kg in weight, whereas females average only 27kg. Their horns have characteristic spirals and are between 35-75cm long, found on males only.
Horns differ to antlers in that they are made of solidified keratin filaments, the same protein as human fingernails and hair. Horns continue to grow throughout the animals life and are never shed.
