Description
These small short-tailed game birds live in open grasslands and woodlands, with different species found worldwide. The female (hen) will lay roughly 12 eggs in spring which the male will help to incubate. The young will remain with their parents for the first summer and then leave. They live off a diet of mainly seeds and berries.
